Kaan is a qualified solicitor in England and Wales with over a decade of experience acting for shipowners, cargo interests and their insurers in both wet and dry shipping disputes. His experience includes having worked in a magic circle firm, the project finance and litigation teams of two leading international law firms in the City of London as well as undertaking two extensive secondments as a senior P&I and FD&D claims handler in an IG Group P&I Club in London and in the Paris and Rotterdam offices of a large fixed premium insurer.

He has given several talks and seminars to Clients (including the Shipowners Club, UK Club, Steamship, and Lockton Omni) on issues including principles of English contract law, international regulations aiming to reduce CO2 emissions in shipping, and common issues in charterparty and bill of lading disputes (including speed and performance, unsafe ports, war risks and sanctions). Kaan also delivers yearly lectures to law students at Medipol University, Istanbul and has co-authored articles for the LMAA Law Review and Lloyd’s Maritime and Commercial Law Quarterly.

Kaan is trilingual in English, French and Turkish.

Ömer is a qualified solicitor with a particular focus on shipping, commodities and international trade.

He has handled a number of high-profile cases both in the High Court and the Court of Appeal. Ömer has also acted in arbitrations, particularly those held on LMAA and GAFTA terms. 

His work includes a wide range of shipping matters, from charterparty and bill of lading disputes, wet shipping matters (groundings, collisions) to ship sale and purchase disputes. He provides an efficient service and is praised for his practical, commercial awareness.

Ömer is bilingual in Turkish and English
